A native of South Carolina, Natalie grew up with an appreciation for simple, subtle yet beautiful style. Vintage snapshots of women, including her mother, living in New York City in the 70′s sparked an interest in fashion early on for the emerging designer. The feminine, timeless elegance captured in the photographs inspired her to create a handmade fine jewelry collection that is classic, yet contemporary, and that looks and feels effortless.
The convergence of southern roots and big-city living was inevitable. Natalie moved to New York to pursue her passion in 2004 and began her journey as a jewelry designer. Developing her craft in various studios and workshops in the city, the artist gained experience in metalsmithing, wax carving and stone setting. In addition to a successful career in technology, Natalie received an MBA from Duke University in 2007, which inspired her to turn her love of design into a business.
New York City has been a consistent source of inspiration for Natalie – “Every day in New York City is unpredictable. You never know who or what you will see or a new undiscovered place that you will stumble upon that will spark an idea or serve as a source of inspiration.”
Natalie Nguyen founded New York City based company Soria Z. Jewelry in 2010. Much of her design is inspired by living in Manhattan, international travel and the love for creative style.
